The Body in the Birches by Katherine Hall Page
The picturesque getaway, a loving family home nestled among a copse of birch trees along Maine’s beautiful coastline becomes anything but for one young woman as her family jockeys to be chosen as the one to inherit the house.  Amature sleuth Faith Fairchild whitnesses greed, envy, jealousy, and deceit buble and culminate with murder.  In the Birches, next door to her summer abode, The Pines, Faith can see the situation boiling under the old cottage roof, is about to bubble ver. Large families generate great stories and good times, even if they ratchet up the drama up a bit – and The Body in the Birches is no different.  This great book gathers quite a cast of characters together in a large cottage on the beach that has everything, minus cell phone reception and good cheer.  With the passing of the house’s owner, Aunt Priscilla, the family has been summoned from all over the country to determine who will inherit the family gem.  When the ensuing gossip and drama escalate into murder the situation goes from annoying, to deadly.  Katherine Hall Page’s Body in the Birches is a good old fashioned murder mystery with an ending no one sees coming.

Great for a Summer vacation, stay-cation or an evening in The Body in the Birches will have you seeing shades of Agatha Christie and enjoying everyone of them.  Page after page is filled with picturesque scenery so vivid that you can almost feel the cool breeze coming off of the Atlantic and smell the salt spray.  The tension between the cousins, aunts and uncles is palpable.  And the sense that something will go awry is unshakable.  Whether you like murder mysteries, or are just craving a piece of great fiction Katherine Hall Page has what you’re looking for in her new Faith Fairchild Mystery.  The Body in the Birches is worth all of the praise and laud that it has received in this, the 22nd installment in the Faith Fairchild series.  Katherine Hall Page is an accomplished author and should definitely be on your TBR list.
