Where the Bodies Were Buried

Where the Bodies Were Buried

By: T.J. English

The infamous and nefarious professional criminal Whitey Bulger, has been the subject of numerous books, television series and shows, and soon a feature film.  Until T.J. English wrote and published Where the Bodies Were Buried, the picture of Bulger’s life and the totality of his criminal enterprise had remained unfinished   Assembling the entire cast of characters, those that remained alive anyway, T.J. English has created a work of art, a biographical and true crime masterpiece. Where the Bodies Were Buried exclusively covers the making of Bulger as a criminal, the workings of organized crime in Boston, and the role that the FBI played in it all.  Others have tried to tell the story and ended up only being able to scratch the surface, or tell their side of the story – that of their role in an extremely compartmentalized criminal organization.  English did his homework and collected more than all of the others combined to write the book on Bulger.

Where the Bodies Were Buried is an erie expose, a gruesome tale and English tells it expertly.  An accomplished author who has written a number of books, (some of which focus on Irish gangsters or crime in Boston in other ways), English has proven his diligence and willingness to go the extra mile to get the whole story.  This, his latest work, is riddled with interviews with Bulger’s partners, family members and friends of his victims, those who had tried to expose Bulger and had been burned.  The book is chalked full of detailed retellings of Bulger’s crimes from robbery to murder.  English has gotten closer to the former members of Whitey’s inner circle, and convinced them to tell their story.  Which has resulted in the explosive Where the Bodies Were Buried.  I was blown away by the detail, the interviews, and honestly, just how big of a role the FBI had in the Bulger criminal enterprise.  Yes, we all know that cops and feds use informants to gain information but man, did they go too far in Boston.  I’ll never think of crime, Boston or the FBI in the same way.  Get the full story from the man who literally wrote the book on Bulger.
