By Gordon Tredgold
An inspiring guide to leadership, Gordon Tredgold’s work is example after example of the skills necessary to grow as a leader. The examples, the structures and the models that Tedgold provided will aide not only myself in my new career but countless others as they crack the spine of this educational and inspirational book. Reading this book, I felt like a personable and battle tested CEO was sitting down with me and mentoring me. Like this CEO believed in me and wanted me to succeed and have all of the tools necessary to attain success and complete whatever projects lay in front of me. I will be recommending this book to my coworkers and those on my site that are interested in expanding their personal and professional growth.
The Marathon Diary that Tredgold includes in Leadership provides a very candid look into the thoughts and feelings that many of us experience as we struggle to succeed and live out our goals. So often we get wrapped up in our struggles, in why we can’t rather than looking at the big picture and seeing not only why but how we can succeed. The Marathon Diary shows that no matter how novice we might be when we first decide upon our goals, we can and will achieve them, if we develop a structured plan attainable steps and milestones. I was very appreciative and thankful that he provided these thoughts and insights on top of his professional examples.
Leadership is more than a quick and easy read – it is a quick and easy read in which a tired professional can come home and find solace, advice and a game plan. This book is like the hammer of a professional’s toolbox.
