The Breaking Point
By: Dr. Bill Bass and Jon Jefferson
It’s been three days since I finished reading the book and I still don’t have a clue what to say about The Breaking Point by authors Dr. Bill Bass and Jon Jefferson – it’s just that good. I’m oscillating between telling you to go read it for yourself and rambling on about every little detail. It’s too good and so well written that I’m leaning towards making you read it for yourself. I’ll give you a little more info though – just in case you still need convincing. The Breaking Point is a Body Farm novel written about (and ironically by) the founder of this key research institution, Dr. Bill Bass. Bass teamed up with Jon Jefferson to combine his renowned skill, experience, and intellect with Jefferson’s incredible writing and storytelling skills to create one hell of a book. Together they’ve become Jefferson Bass. Precise, accurate, detailed and based on real people and events, The Breaking Point quickly became one of my favorites within the first few chapters, and permanently inked these two on to my list of favorite authors with the likes of Patricia Cornwell and J.A. Jance.
Without giving too much away, the book opens with Dr. Bill Brockton, founder of the Body Farm, being invited out to consult on a mysterious plane crash and to verify the death of the head of prominent charity – to which Brockton himself and his wife have donated to. What should be a case of routine identification turns into much more as the case begins to unravel, drawing Brockton once again into the sinister and dangerous world of criminals. Distractions in his personal life may put him at even greater risk. Ah, OK. I’ve gotta stop there or else I’m going to give away the really exciting parts. Long story short – this is one book for all crime drama enthusiasts to pick up! Like, Now. So go. Get yourself a copy, so you too can fall in love with Dr. Bill Bass and Jon Jefferson in The Breaking Point!
